Who is responsible

Starktronix operates this website, starktronix.com, and is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. Questions about the notice, and requests concerning your data, go to partners@starktronix.com.

The operator's details are set out in the Imprint at the end of this page.

What this site is

The public site is a set of static pages. There are no visitor accounts, no advertising and no tracking pixels. The public pages set no cookies. Fonts, scripts and images are served from the site itself, so viewing a page sends no request to a third-party font or script host.

The partner portal, entered through Sign in, is a separate authenticated application. It is described in its own section below.

Visiting the site

The site is hosted by Vercel. To deliver a page, the hosting provider processes the IP address of your device, the address of the page you requested, the time of the request and the browser identification your device sends with it. This is the technical minimum for a page to reach you and for the host to protect its platform against abuse. The hosting provider holds these server logs for its own operational and security purposes; we keep no separate copy.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a reachable and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Visitor statistics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, the hosting provider's aggregate visitor measurement. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records that a page was viewed, together with the page address, the referring page, and the country, browser, operating system and device type derived from the request. Visits are counted with a short-lived identifier computed from the request, not with a persistent identifier assigned to you. We see totals and trends, not individual visitors.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). A content blocker that stops the measurement script does not affect the site; every page works without it.

Writing to us

The contact form sends nothing to this site. When you press the button, the form assembles a message from what you typed, your name, organisation, email address, the capability you selected and your message, and opens it in your own mail client, addressed to partners@starktronix.com. Nothing is stored by the site, and nothing leaves your device until you send the email yourself.

Messages you send us through the form, by email, or through any direct intake we may add to the form later, are received by email and kept for the correspondence: to answer you, to follow up, and to keep the record of what was discussed. If the correspondence leads to work together, the messages become part of the records of that relationship.

Applications sent to careers@starktronix.com are handled in the same way and kept for the recruitment process they relate to.

Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in answering and keeping the correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The contact button

The round button in the corner of every page opens the contact page. Where we have switched it to WhatsApp, it opens a conversation with us on WhatsApp instead. WhatsApp is a service of Meta Platforms. When you use it, your messages are processed by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy, and we receive what you send us there. Messages received on WhatsApp are kept for the correspondence in the same way as email.

Cookies and storage on your device

The public pages set no cookies.

One item of session storage is used: when you jump from the animated landing page to another page, a flag is stored so that the destination can fade in rather than cut. It contains no personal data, it is removed as soon as the next page has loaded, and your browser clears session storage when the tab is closed.

The partner portal at Sign in is different. It is an authenticated application for partners and clients, and it has to remember who is signed in. For signed-in users only, it sets a session cookie (sg_token) and uses your browser's local storage for the signed-in session. Neither is used for tracking or advertising, and neither is set for visitors who do not sign in. The portal is available by arrangement, and its use is governed by the agreement under which access was granted.

Who receives the data

  • Vercel, which hosts the site and provides the visitor statistics, acting on our instructions.
  • The provider of our email service, which delivers and stores our mailboxes on our behalf.
  • WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), only if you choose to contact us there.
  • Professional advisers or public authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Where the data is processed

Vercel is a company of the United States and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes personal data outside the EEA, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR provides for such transfers, such as an adequacy decision covering the recipient or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Server logs: held by the hosting provider for its operational and security purposes, for the period set by its own policy. We keep no copy.
  • Visitor statistics: kept as aggregate figures, which do not identify you.
  • Correspondence: for as long as the conversation and any relationship that follows it require, and afterwards for as long as we are obliged to keep business records. Then it is deleted.
  • Applications: for the recruitment process they relate to.
  • Portal session data: the cookie and the local storage last for the signed-in session.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, for its correction or erasure, for the restriction of its processing, and for a copy in a portable format. You can object to processing that rests on our legitimate interests. Where processing rests on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before.

To exercise any of these, write to partners@starktronix.com. We answer within the time the GDPR allows, normally one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

Changes to this notice

We change this notice when the site changes, for example if the contact form is connected to a direct intake or the contact button is switched to WhatsApp. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and the version published on this page is the current one.
