What it is
Stark-Gate is not described here as a case study; it is the thing standing between this page and the operator console behind it. Authorisation is enforced at the row so that a compromised front end cannot read what it should not. Devices are approved rather than trusted. A session that appears in two implausible places at once is locked rather than logged. Everything consequential is appended to a trail that cannot be edited afterwards.
